The handball tournament at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games will be held in accordance with the Olympic Charter and the Playing Rules of the Game stated in the Bylaws and Regulations adopted by the International Handball Federation (IHF), in force at the time of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.

Pursuant to the Olympic Charter, IHF assumes the responsibility for the technical control and direction of its sport at the Olympic Games.
