Introduction of 3 Restaurant Opening Reviews
Jan 4,2008 From www.shanghaiexpat.com
There are always restaurants coming and going in Shanghai. Our members are out there trying them out, and occasionally they post about it in the forum. As much of the value of Shanghai Expat lies in the collective knowledge of our members, we've compiled some of the best. Starting up a restaurant is not easy. On the business side, we often wonder if any restaurant in Shanghai is making money after paying the landlords. Rents are steep and competition for decent locations is fierce. On the operations side, keeping a staff well-trained and motivated, as well as providing a perfect execution of a great recipe day in and day out, is the kind of juggling that can only be called magical when it all comes together. There are the so many details the average patron takes for granted. Yet, once in a blue moon, a few places iron out the bumps and emerge as "place we'd want to visit again". Three such restaurants opened in Shanghai in the past year - Frankies, Otto's and Beca. Here, we've compiled some members' comments on, and experiences with, these 3 restaurants. These are edited from the forum, so please follow the link to the appropriate thread if you want to read more. For more details, please click the following links: |
